Structural Steel Detailer

Structural Steel Detailing at this level demands more than drafting ability: it demands someone who can read an engineering package, build a complete Tekla model independently, and communicate directly with clients without hand-holding.

This role puts you in exactly that position, working full-time on residential and commercial structural steel projects for an established construction client operating in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.

THE ROLE

As a Structural Steel Detailer, you will take engineering and architectural inputs and produce complete, issue-ready Tekla Structures models and drawings across a mix of residential and commercial structural steel projects. You will manage your own workload, raise and follow up RFIs directly, and participate in client-facing design review meetings: this is not a support role, it is a production role with real project ownership from day one.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Produce accurate and complete Tekla Structures models and drawings for structural steel projects across residential and commercial construction, working from engineering packages and architectural inputs through to drawing issue.
• Generate, manage, and submit RFIs to the manager or directly to clients, following up proactively to resolve design queries without waiting to be prompted.
• Attend and actively contribute to client design review meetings via Microsoft Teams, noting required changes and driving the review process forward.
• Manage your own workload and communicate progress, target dates, and any blockers to the manager proactively and without prompting.
• Navigate and mark up PDF documents for drawing review and annotation as required throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with the manager on design management tasks, progressively reducing the level of oversight needed as familiarity with client standards and workflows deepens.

WHAT YOU BRING

✔Intermediate to advanced Tekla Structures proficiency with a minimum of three years of hands-on structural steel detailing experience in the software, capable of producing models and drawings independently from start to issue.

✔At least three years of structural steel detailing experience covering complete packages: from engineering inputs through to final drawing issue across residential and commercial project types.

✔Strong written and spoken English communication skills sufficient for professional RFI writing and direct participation in client-facing design review meetings.

✔A demonstrably proactive working style with the ability to self-manage, communicate progress without being asked, and follow up on outstanding information independently.

✔The ability to interpret engineering packages and architectural drawings and translate them accurately into Tekla Structures models and construction drawings.

✔Availability to work within the Philippine time zone with overlap from approximately 9:00 AM Philippine Standard Time onward.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

This is a full work-from-home role. You will work from your own home office, and you must have a quiet, dedicated workspace and a reliable internet connection capable of supporting video calls and large model file transfers.
