Design & Analysis
- Assist with structural analysis and design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and ancillary structures (barrier rails, expansion joints, bearings).
- Prepare design calculations for gravity loads, live loads, wind, seismic, and thermal effects.
- Contribute to conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design packages (plans, sections, details).
- Perform quantity take‑offs and assist in bill of quantities (BOQ) preparation.
- Support value engineering and alternative studies (e.g., steel vs. concrete options, superstructure types).
Standards, Documentation & QA
- Apply relevant codes under supervision (e.g., AASHTO LRFD, Eurocodes, BS, DPWH and other local design manuals).
- Follow company QA/QC procedures, maintain calculation books, and file management standards.
- Draft technical notes, design reports, and basis‑of‑design summaries.
Digital Delivery & Modelling
- Develop and update structural models in analysis tools (e.g., MIDAS Civil, STAAD).
- Produce and revise drawings in CAD/BIM platforms (AutoCAD, Revit).
- Help maintain model coordination with highways, geotechnical, drainage/hydraulics, and utilities.
Construction Support
- Assist with shop drawing reviews, RFIs, material submittals, and method statement checks.
- Participate in site visits and inspections with senior engineers; prepare field notes and photo logs.
- Track design changes and update as‑built information.
Assessment & Rehabilitation (as applicable)
- Support condition inspections, load ratings, and life‑cycle assessments for existing bridges.
- Help prepare repair and retrofit details for structural deficiencies.
Coordination & Communication
- Attend internal coordination meetings; capture action items and follow through.
- Communicate clearly with senior engineers, drafters, and other disciplines to resolve interface issues.
- Prepare concise slides, markups, and summaries for design reviews.
