Role Summary

This role offers the opportunity to work directly on U.S.-based residential and small commercial projects while building deep expertise in American building codes and wood-frame design. A structured ramp-up period will be provided for U.S. codes and permitting standards (IRC and local requirements), making this an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to expand their international experience.

This position includes structural engineering design and may include drafting/production responsibilities depending on the candidate's strengths. We recognize that in many markets, engineering design, drafting, and client coordination are separate tracks, and we are open to structuring responsibilities based on where you bring the most value.

LOCATION: Must be residing in the Philippines – Remote.

ENVIRONMENT: Philippines and International Teams.

WORK SCHEDULE: 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full-time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

Essential Functions

  • Perform structural analysis and design for residential and light commercial projects
  • Prepare structural calculations, plans, and construction documents
  • Develop and revise drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit (level of drafting responsibility may vary based on experience and strengths)
  • Coordinate with architects, designers, and builders throughout project phases
  • Review site photos, reports, and field documentation to support design validation
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and local regulations (ramp-up period provided for U.S. codes)
  • Evaluate, analyze, and retrofit existing structures
  • Support and mentor junior staff as the team grows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience
  • Experience producing construction drawing sets
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design software
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong coordination skills when working with international teams
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment aligned with PST hours
  • Residential structural design experience
  • U.S. residential experience
  • Wood-frame construction experience
  • Experience with small commercial projects
  • Background in transitioning from commercial or concrete structures into residential design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • SE license (or actively working toward it)
