At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
The
Structural Engineer will collaborate alongside with other sector engineers, providing project delivery, design management and project management and will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities within the Energy and Power team. The role will play a vital role
specializing in plant design. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and reviewing structural components and systems within industrial plants, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with engineering standards.
This includes
- Performing structural analysis and design for foundations, pipe racks, equipment supports, platforms, tanks, and industrial buildings.
- Building and evaluating structural models considering various load combinations such as seismic, wind, dead load, live load, thermal loads, and equipment loads.
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant international codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes, etc.).
- Coordinating and integrating structural works with piping, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Providing structural support for piping systems, cable trays, heavy equipment, and plant utilities.
- Preparing engineering deliverables including design reports, calculations, drawings, MTOs, and construction specifications.
- Reviewing vendor and contractor drawings, calculations, and technical submittals.
- Supporting construction activities by addressing site queries, resolving design issues, and conducting site inspections.
- Participating in structural integrity assessments and provide recommendations for repair or upgrade.
- Ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project standards throughout all project stages.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, licensed is a plus
- Experience in structural design of industrial plants or renewable energy projects
