A residential construction firm in Australia needs a skilled Structural Drafter to join their established team creating detailed plans for new homes, dual occupancy projects, and renovations. THE ROLE

You will create detailed drafting work for residential building projects using primarily Revit software, working within an established Google Drive workflow system with clear templates and standards. Your drawings will need to meet Australian building codes and company standards while maintaining accuracy that minimizes revision cycles and keeps projects moving smoothly through delivery phases.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

▸Create detailed drafting work for residential building projects including new homes, dual occupancy designs, and renovations using primarily Revit software

▸Interpret client briefs and project requirements to produce accurate, buildable plans that meet company standards and Australian building codes

▸Work with provided examples and templates through Google Drive system to ensure consistency with established company drawing standards

▸Manage project deliverables within quoted timeframes, maintaining accuracy to minimize revision cycles and client back-and-forth

▸Collaborate with clients on project coordination, participating in team meetings and internal workflow discussions

▸Handle PDF manipulation for client deliverables including splitting and merging plan packages as required for different project phases

▸Maintain project documentation and workflow tracking using Google Sheets system for job scheduling and progress updates

WHAT YOU BRING

✔ Advanced proficiency in Revit software as the primary tool plus minimum 3-5 years residential drafting experience across project types from small renovations to large residential developments

✔ Strong communication skills with ability to interpret client briefs accurately and collaborate effectively with team members

✔ Proven track record of delivering accurate drawings with minimal revision requirements with portfolio examples essential

✔ Capability to work autonomously after initial training period, managing multiple concurrent projects within quoted timeframes

✔ Understanding of building codes and construction methodology to ensure practical, buildable design outputs
