Job Description

Job Summary

The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for planning, analyzing, and designing structural systems for construction projects. The role ensures that all structural designs comply with applicable building codes, safety standards, client requirements, and project specifications. The Structural Design Engineer collaborates closely with architects, project managers, site engineers, and other technical personnel to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare structural analysis and design for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
  • Develop structural calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local building codes, safety regulations, and engineering standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and construction teams regarding structural requirements.
  • Review and evaluate structural plans, shop drawings, and design revisions.
  • Conduct site inspections and structural assessments when necessary.
  • Provide technical support during project execution and construction activities.
  • Analyze project requirements and recommend appropriate structural systems and materials.
  • Assist in cost estimation and value engineering initiatives.
  • Prepare engineering reports, design documentation, and project correspondences.
  • Address structural issues, design conflicts, and technical concerns promptly.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of all engineering outputs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
  • Proficient in structural design software such as ETABS, STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, or equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and other drafting/design software.
  • Familiar with local building codes, structural standards, and construction methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
