Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Job Objective

  • Supports the Strategic Tax Management Head in the development and implementation of strategic tax planning initiatives for the Group. The role contributes to the evaluation of deals and business structures, preparation of tax studies, and the management of tax assessments, ensuring strategic alignment and tax efficiency.

Key Result Areas

  • To assist in identifying and evaluating strategic tax-saving opportunities
  • To support in reviewing tax implications of business plans and structures
  • To aid in the preparation of comprehensive tax studies and forecasts
  • To coordinate with internal stakeholders and tax authorities during assessments and audits

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts preliminary tax studies and supports in the development of strategic tax planning initiatives
  • Prepares analyses of the tax implications of business models, investments, and proposed structures
  • Supports the Strategic Tax Management Head in creating tax projections and identifying quick win opportunities
  • Coordinates with business partners to gather data and clarify business plans for tax review
  • Assists in monitoring tax assessments and managing compliance risks
  • Prepares draft presentations and reports related to strategic tax matters
  • Maintains updated records of tax positions and regulatory interactions
  • Facilitates coordination with BIR/LGU authorities during audits or inquiries
  • Helps ensure timely updates to the team and management regarding changes in tax laws and policies

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or any related field
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Strategic and results-driven; proactive and can think outside the box
  • Extensive knowledge on national and local tax rules and regulations
  • Ability to prepare tax plans and strategies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal, managerial and analytical skills to execute assignments, raise and communicate issues or recommendations effectively and work cross functionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • High integrity and excellent work ethics, with strong sense of responsibility, commitment and discipline
  • At least 5 years of working experience, preferably in tax field
  • Experience in a major audit firm is an advantage
