Job Description

AT A GLANCE

The Strategic Sourcing and Development Manager leads Sunnies Inc.s end-to-end sourcing strategy across the eyewear portfolio, covering vendor development, production planning, product development, and supply chain optimization. This role drives both strategic vendor relationships and new supplier pipeline development to support cost, quality, and speed-to-market targets — operating at the intersection of procurement discipline and product thinking.

YOUR OVERALL MISSION & DAY-TO-DAY

Sourcing Strategy & Vendor Development

  • Define and execute the annual sourcing strategy for SSD Eyewear, aligned to brand, cost, and product development calendars.
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard new vendors and contract manufacturers; build a diversified, resilient supplier base.
  • Develop and maintain a vendor scorecard system; lead quarterly business reviews to drive supplier performance and continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate cost, lead times, MOQs, and commercial terms with suppliers to improve COGS and margins.
  • Review and manage Service Level Agreements; ensure accountability across supplier commitments.

Production Planning & Launch Execution

  • Oversee the execution of production plans in coordination with Production Planning personnel; surface risks early with proposed mitigations.
  • Monitor end-to-end launch activities — sampling, production, QC, and shipping — to ensure on-time delivery across all eyewear collections.
  • Develop compressed lead time strategies for time-sensitive launches or supply disruptions.
  • Provide action plans for any delays at development or production stages.

Product Development Collaboration

  • Partner with Brand Management and Product teams during the development, sampling, and commercialization phases of new SKUs.
  • Ensure vendors comply with Sunnies technical specifications, testing protocols, and quality standards.
  • Evaluate material and component alternatives to support product innovation and cost efficiency.

Process & Organizational Development

  • Lead the review and improvement of sourcing and production planning processes; propose and implement scalable SOPs.
  • Spearhead special projects that advance supply chain capability or organizational targets.
  • Mentor and develop the sourcing team; build internal capability in vendor management and supply chain fundamentals.
  • Track and report on KPIs through weekly scorecards and measurables; escalate critical issues with clear, time-bound action plans.

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES

  • Decision Making & Accountability – Make informed decisions, manage trade-offs, and hold teams accountable for outcomes
  • Strategic Thinking - Anticipate trends and aligns team direction with long-term business goals
  • People Development – Coach teams while building strong talent pipelines and growth opportunities
  • Conflict Management – Address challenges constructively while maintaining strong relationships and ensuring resolution
  • Managing Self – Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and discipline in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
  • Learning Agility – Adapt quickly to change while helping teams learn faster and close capability gaps

YOUR TALENT

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; MBA is an advantage.
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain; at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven track record in vendor development and supplier negotiations, ideally in consumer goods, fashion, or retail.
  • Experience managing end-to-end production cycles — from development through commercialization and delivery.
  • Strong commercial acumen; able to build and defend cost models, evaluate make-vs-buy scenarios, and drive COGS improvement.
  • Proficient in supply chain tools, MS Office (advanced Excel), and ERP or procurement systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with Brand, Finance, and Operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias for action and structured thinking.
  • High ownership mindset; thrives in a fast-paced, brand-driven environment with shifting priorities.
