The Opportunity
This is not a traditional account management role. As Strategic Accounts Manager, you will lead the development, management, and growth of strategic partnerships with HMOs, insurance companies, TPAs, brokers, assistance companies, and international payors to drive patient acquisition, utilization, and revenue growth across the hospital and clinic network.
You will serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned payor accounts, helping strengthen the organization's position as a preferred healthcare provider while identifying new partnership opportunities and expanding access to healthcare services.
This is for someone who thrives in relationship building, commercial growth, and strategic stakeholder engagement.
What You'll Actually Do
Lead Strategic Account Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with HMOs, insurers, TPAs, brokers, assistance companies, and international payors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned strategic accounts.
- Conduct regular account reviews to evaluate utilization trends, performance, and growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute account plans that drive volume, revenue, and market share growth.
- Maintain high levels of account satisfaction, retention, and engagement.
Drive Business Development & Patient Acquisition
- Generate patient referrals and utilization from assigned healthcare financing partners.
- Identify and secure new partnerships with local and international payors.
- Expand participation in provider networks and managed care programs.
- Develop relationships with HMOs, medical insurers, TPAs, brokers, international healthcare administrators, embassy healthcare programs, and medical tourism facilitators.
Promote Healthcare Services
- Drive utilization of the organization's services including inpatient care, emergency services, specialty consultations, diagnostics, preventive care, executive health programs, and wellness services.
- Support growth initiatives that increase covered-member access across the healthcare network.
Support Contracting & Partnership Development
- Participate in provider agreement negotiations, contract renewals, and commercial discussions.
- Collaborate with pricing and revenue integrity teams on reimbursement and commercial proposals.
- Support accreditation activities, RFP submissions, and network inclusion initiatives.
- Develop customized partnership proposals aligned with organizational objectives.
Expand International Payor Relationships
- Identify and build partnerships with international insurers and global healthcare organizations.
- Promote specialized healthcare services and capabilities to international markets.
- Collaborate with international patient services teams to support seamless patient experiences.
- Increase international patient referrals and expand participation in global healthcare networks.
Drive Revenue Performance & Market Growth
- Monitor referral volumes, admissions, outpatient visits, revenue performance, account profitability, and market share.
- Develop performance reports and actionable business insights.
- Implement corrective action plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Collaborate Across the Organization
- Work closely with Strategic Accounts, Operations, Centers of Excellence, Revenue Cycle Management, Marketing, Finance, and Clinical Leaders.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, stakeholder engagement programs, and service improvements that strengthen partner relationships.
Who You Are
- A graduate of Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Medical Technology, Public Health, Finance, or a related field.
- An MBA or Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Brings 5–8 years of experience in healthcare sales, managed care, insurance account management, strategic account management, or business development.
- Has experience working with HMOs, insurers, TPAs, brokers, assistance companies, or international healthcare accounts.
- Strong in key account management, consultative selling, negotiation, relationship building, and strategic business development.
- Understands healthcare financing, reimbursement structures, provider networks, and healthcare operations.
- Excellent in stakeholder management, executive presentations, proposal development, and client relationship management.
