Job Summary
The Store Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring every customer receives exceptional pharmaceutical care and a positive experience, which contributes to sales, customer loyalty, and business growth. This role involves a blend of professional pharmacy practice, patient counseling, sales, inventory management, and operational tasks. The Store Pharmacist will play a key role in upholding the company's commitment to health and wellness, with opportunities for growth into more senior roles.
Responsibilities:
A. Patient-Centered Care & Customer Focus
- Work towards meeting and exceeding patient and customer expectations, seeking guidance from senior pharmacists or management when needed.
- Strive to understand a customer's health condition, lifestyle, habits, and requirements, ensuring their health remains the primary focus when answering queries, providing product information, and offering health advice.
- Ensure all patients and customers are treated with respect, and complaints or inquiries are handled with the highest level of professionalism, disclosing only necessary and appropriate information.
- Document and forward to the Store Executive product feedback and service experiences from customers.
- Offer to assist customers in navigating the Online Shop for their pharmaceutical and health needs.
B. Pharmaceutical Sales & Achievement
- Achieve monthly sales targets for both overall store performance and specific product categories through various efforts, including pharmacist-led consultations, upselling, and cross-selling of appropriate over-the-counter products and health services.
- Utilize sales strategies and all marketing efforts to promote pharmacy services and health products.
- Ensure that product and medication inquiries are handled effectively and accurately, providing professional guidance.
- Efficiently handle the sales process, ensuring all sales transactions are processed in strict observance of company standards, especially those related to cashiering and Point of Sale (POS) operations.
- Encourage customers to sign up for the membership program, highlighting health and pharmacy-related benefits.
C. Product & Medication Knowledge
- Maintain and expand in-depth knowledge of prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and health supplements by reading relevant materials, utilizing the Telegram app for updates, and through continuous self-study.
- Attend all product training sessions, continuing pharmacy education (CPE) programs, and complete all product-related examinations, including those specific to pharmacy practice.
- Engage in knowledge-sharing with co-employees, particularly regarding medication information, patient counseling techniques, and common health conditions.
- Provide comprehensive information about the products in each category, with a strong focus on pharmaceutical products and their appropriate use.
- Develop and provide expert knowledge in specific therapeutic categories (e.g., diabetes management, cardiovascular health).
D. Inventory Management & Control
- Ensure that shelves and gondolas are well-stocked and in accordance with merchandising and pharmaceutical storage standards; perform product facing; monitor and update shelf-tags, especially for medications.
- Regularly check product expiry dates, with particular attention to medications, and timely report any form of damages or discrepancies.
- Ensure that nearly expiring products are pulled out from the shelves in accordance with pharmaceutical waste management protocols.
- Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts for pharmacy products.
- Ensure that inventory variances are accurately documented and reported for appropriate action by the Store Executive and relevant pharmacy operations teams.
- Receive and check stock delivery, especially for controlled substances and prescription medications, ensuring that documents reconcile with actual products delivered.
- Coordinate with other stores on product requests, particularly for medication transfers.
E. Standard Operating Procedures & Professional Practice
- Observe all work standards, rules & regulations, including strict adherence to all applicable health and safety protocols, Good Dispensing Practices, and Pharmacy Laws and Regulations.
- Ensure that all areas, especially the pharmacy counter and dispensing area, are kept clean and organized, maintaining the premium look of the store.
- Be aware of shoplifters at all times, and immediately report to the Store Executive any irregularity observed in the store, particularly concerning high-value or controlled medications.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA principles).
- Accurately and completely dispense prescription medications, including patient counseling on proper usage, potential side effects, and storage.
D. Others
- Perform other operational and professional tasks that may be assigned by the Store Executive or supervising Pharmacist.
- Participate in all improvement and engagement programs and initiatives implemented in the store.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the Philippines.
- Demonstrates Beginner proficiency level in operational competencies, business, people, and leadership competencies.
- Believes in and models the brand in appearance, demeanor, and lifestyle, particularly in promoting health and wellness.
- Detail-oriented, focused, and highly organized, especially regarding medication dispensing and record-keeping.
- Discreet and very professional in handling sensitive patient information.
- Personable and with very good communication skills, capable of effective patient counseling.
- Patient, respectful, and tactful when interacting with diverse customers and patients.
- Persistent and with good influencing skills, particularly in promoting health initiatives.
- Good in time management, capable of balancing dispensing, counseling, and operational tasks.
- Capable of multi-tasking and working under pressure in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
- Capable of handling changing requirements or demands, including new medications or regulations.
