Job Summary:
The Store Development Manager is responsible for leading the full design and construction lifecycle of all retail spaces, from concept to turnover. This role ensures that every store reflects the brand's identity and meets quality, cost, and timeline targets. Beyond execution, the role sets strategy, builds internal capability, and ensures governance of standards, contracts, and processes across all countries.
The role requires strong leadership in cross-functional coordination, vendor management, design evolution, and portfolio-level planning. The position also owns the development of the Design Bible and oversees the growth of a high-performing store development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of store development from design brief to turnover across all markets and formats
- Ensure store design execution aligns with brand identity, customer experience, retail operations, and country-specific nuances
- Oversee project timelines, contractor performance, and cost delivery to meet committed calendar and budget targets
- Establish and manage governance frameworks for design approvals, quality audits, and construction standards
- Lead multi-country coordination with country construction teams, brand GMs, principal architects, and landlords, Marketing Head and Product Managers
- Own and continuously evolve the Design Bible, and Store Operations and Equipment Bible to reflect operational, customer, and brand needs
- Develop and coach the store development team
- Review and approve key architectural and construction documentation for brand compliance and functionality
- Ensure landlord related contracts follow internal contract guidelines and reflect key build and delivery terms including accountability in the review of lease clauses related to handover conditions, fit-out timelines, penalties, and technical requirements terms of lease agreement
