Steel Detailer

Haskell is an international Design-Builder with offices across North America, Mexico City, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Manila. Haskell was founded in 1965 and focuses on Industrial, Aviation, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Transportation & Specialty-type projects.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Application of Knowledge:

a. Contributes to developing shop drawings and 3D Tekla models from Engineering drawings/sketches and Architectural drawings.

b. Coordinates among disciplines and conformance to corporate standards for steel detailing documents.

c. Resolves building geometry challenges by coordinating with Engineering and Architectural teams.

d. Produces detailed connections and steel shop drawings in Tekla, in line to the US and/or international standards.

e. Prepares steel shop drawings, checking and marking plans.

2. Construction Support:

a. Assists in prioritizing critical responses.

b. Negotiates issue resolutions among design disciplines and between design and construction staff.

3. Professional Development

a. Participates in the professional community organizations and trade organizations within discipline.

b. Reviews updates on AISC and Steel Shop Standards

4. Change Management:

a. Responsible for identifying steel detailing scope change definition and management and impact to schedule and financial performance.

b. Documents all changes in scope in accordance with terms of the contract.

5. Leadership:

a. Assist in maintaining project communications through regular review meetings.

b. Ensures all steel detailing contractual requirements are satisfied.

c. Participates in applicable corporate quality programs for assigned projects.

d. Participates in AE and corporate policies, procedures, committees, and initiatives when assigned.

e. Participates in project closeout, post construction review process and warranty responses.

f. Ensures all relevant steel detailing documents reside on the network in appropriate folders.

g. Assists in training Steel Detailers Is & IIs.

6. Strategy:

a. Seeks innovative ways to provide the steel detailing/shop drawing deliverables.

b. Contributes for development of and compliance with a comprehensive and cohesive shop drawing and specifications production strategy.

c. Travel as required.

d. Other duties which may be assigned as needed.

Education/Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer or Architecture
2. With at least (2) two years of significant structural and miscellaneous steel detailing experience.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.

1. Knowledgeable in US imperial steel detailing standard codes & specifications
2. Good understanding of US steel fabrication and construction practices
3. Knowledgeable in Tekla Structures. 2D drafting and 3D modeling skills is required
