The Staff Test Development Engineer will provide technical leadership for test development supporting China Business Unit products in ADI Philippines, with primary responsibility for GMSL programs on the SPEA platform. This role is well suited for a strong hands-on engineer who can lead complex technical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Development Leadership: Lead the design, bring-up, debug, and optimization of hardware and software test solutions for GMSL and other CBU programs from early development through qualification and production release.
- Complex Debug and Root Cause Analysis: Lead resolution of complex silicon, hardware, software, and tester issues using data-driven analysis to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Product and Platform Expertise: Apply deep technical knowledge in testing GMSL and other high-speed interface products, including implementation and optimization on the SPEA platform.
- Cross-Functional and Cross-Site Collaboration: Partner closely with design, product engineering, validation, reliability, quality, manufacturing, and regional teams in ADI Philippines and the China Business Unit to resolve issues, align priorities, and maintain execution momentum.
- Technical Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and structured problem solving while helping improve team capability and execution quality.
- Technical Communication: Communicate technical issues, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly across local and regional stakeholders to support sound decisions and timely execution.
Qualifications
- Test Development Expertise: Strong experience developing, debugging, and optimizing hardware and software test solutions in semiconductor environments.
- Debug and Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across silicon, hardware, software, and tester-related issues.
- Data Analysis: Ability to use data-driven analysis to identify trends, isolate issues, and support effective corrective actions.
- ATE Platform Experience: Strong hands-on experience with ATE platforms, including SPEA, with ability to support efficient test implementation and optimization.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Ability to work effectively with design, product engineering, validation, reliability, quality, and manufacturing teams.
- Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Ability to guide junior engineers, influence technical direction, and strengthen team execution through coaching and review.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and 8+ years of related experience.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and 8+ years of related experience.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in test development, product engineering, validation, or a related discipline.
- Experience in semiconductor product development and manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting Optical Control, Automotive, or high-speed interface product portfolios.
- Experience with ATE platforms such as Teradyne UltraFLEX, Eagle ETS, and SPEA.
- Experience supporting cross-site or cross-regional engineering teams.
