Role Summary
The
Accounting Staff is responsible for supporting daily treasury and general accounting operations, ensuring accurate processing of collections, proper recording of financial transactions, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in cash management, tax compliance, account reconciliation, and audit support, working closely with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities- Cash Management:
- Processing of incoming payments and proper recording of collections
- Prepare and report on treasury activities, including collections, cash positions, and other financial data
- Reconciling the cash accounts to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Maintain organized records of all treasury and cash-related transactions and prepare for audits
- Accounts Payable:
- Validates approval, completeness and correctness of invoice details and encoding into system ensuring 3-way matching
- Reconciling vendor statements and accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding balances
- Period end closing:
- Work hand in hand in the month-end and year-end closing process, including journal entries
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards, such as GAAP
- Tax and Audit:
- Ensure correct withholding tax on vendor payments
- Provide assistance on tax assessments and external audit
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty consistently and satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the skill, knowledge and/or ability required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting functions, preferably with BPO and Shared Services
- Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or Financial Accounting/Financial Management required
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and accounting software preferably Oracle
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a changing work environment
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Can work on a mid-shift schedule and on a hybrid work arrangement
