Staff Accountant II (QuickBooks & Full-Cycle Accounting)
Job Summary
The Staff Accountant II is responsible for managing full-cycle accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting financial reporting requirements. This role handles general ledger activities, reconciliations, payroll accounting, and year-end compliance support while ensuring accuracy and timely reporting for internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and categorize daily financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Reconcile payroll transactions with payroll tax filings and prepare related journal entries.
- Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
- Monitor vendor payments and support year-end 1099 reporting requirements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain organized accounting records and support audits or financial reviews.
Screening Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent accounting experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in bookkeeping, full-cycle accounting, or a similar accounting role.
- At least one (1) year of experience with U.S. bookkeeping, U.S. GAAP, and U.S. tax-related accounting requirements.
- Stable employment history.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S.-based clients.
- Experience with financial reporting, payroll reconciliation, and 1099 compliance.
- Familiarity with additional accounting platforms is a plus.
