Sr. Underwriter

Job Description:

We are seeking a business analyst to work with our senior underwriter on underwriting new loans and monitoring existing loans. The right candidate will have an inquiring mind and be able to analyze the health of a small business. The individual will be discussing borrower's financial statements and business prospects with business owners and should have a strong knowledge of accounting, finance, and how businesses operate.

Qualifications:

• Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
• Robust analytical capability
• Strong work ethic with no fear of working on getting the job done
• Strong working knowledge of the MS Office Suite, especially Excel, as well as Salesforce
• Sound business judgment with excellent organizational capability
• Work independently and balance multiple assignments while meeting deadlines
• Motivated, curious, detailed oriented, and adaptive to change
• Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and the interpretation of financial statements is important.
• Excited to work in a flexible casual work environment in person or remotely.
• Experienced in insurance or financial services environment preferred
• Background in Small Business Loans/Merchant Cash Advance is a must

Notes:

Degree in finance and or accounting required

Minimum or 3-5 years work experience in either accounting or finance

Looking for a desire to learn about and work with small businesses

The individual will have significant client interaction and thus strong communications skills are required

We will invest significant time in training the individual in our underwriting process and industry
