Know your Project / Team

Project aims to improve the health and nutritional well-being of pregnant women and children under five of age across targeted province(s) in the Philippines and address determinants of stunting in children under five years of age.

The project will strive towards improving the quality of the existing service provision through service delivery platforms and adopting gender-responsive approaches that address health systems gaps in (i) human resource capacity, (ii) supply chain management of essential nutrition products, (iii) monitoring and accountability processes, (iv) health management information systems and processes including capacity on using data for decision making, (v) program budgetary planning processes along with (vi) approaches towards community behaviour focusing on socio-cultural and gender norms.

About The Role

The Senior Technical and Program Officer - Nutrition Services will provide technical and programmatic support to the ASP project, ensuring the technical quality, coherence, and timely implementation of project activities. The role will bridge technical nutrition expertise and program coordination, supporting planning, implementation, partner engagement, documentation, and learning across project components, while contributing to adaptive management and continuous improvement. In this role youwill be responsible to:

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure ASP interventions are aligned with national policies, global evidence, and Nutrition International technical standards related to maternal, infant, and young child nutrition, micronutrient interventions, and nutrition service delivery
  • Support the design, refinement, and implementation of nutrition service delivery approaches within health systems strengthening and nutrition governance components of the project
  • Review and quality assure technical content, workplans, tools, training materials, and guidance documents developed under the project
  • Support the Project Director and project team in the development, updating, and implementation of the Project Implementation Plan (PIP), annual work plans, and activity schedules
  • Coordinate closely with implementing partners, government counterparts (DOH, NNC, Local Government Units), and other stakeholders to support timely and high-quality implementation of project activities
  • Support capacity strengthening of government counterparts, implementing partners, and service providers related to nutrition services, health systems strengthening, and governance processes
  • Contribute to the development and review of technical briefs, case studies, presentations, and other knowledge products for internal and external audiences
  • Contribute technical inputs to donor reports, progress updates, and presentations, ensuring accuracy, coherence, and alignment with approved work plans

Requirements

About you

You will have a Master's degree in nutrition, public health, health systems, international development or a related field from a recognized institution, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. with at least 7 to 10 years working experience progressively responsible experience in nutrition and/or public health programs, preferably within low- and middle-income country contexts.

You will come with demonstrated experience of supporting the design and implementation of nutrition or health service delivery programs within government systems. Experience working with government counterparts and familiarity with national health and nutrition systems in the Philippines is a strong asset.

Excellent English language skill (read, write and speak) is a prerequisite. Fluency in local language is also required.
