Responsibilities
Payroll Management:
- Supervise payroll processing for assigned clients in compliance with government regulations (SSS, Philhealth, HDMF, BIR, DOLE).
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely based on our agreed Customer Service Level
- Supervise payroll payouts through electronic systems.
- Monitor timely dispatch of payslips
- Review payroll-related taxes and remittances filings.
- Supervise annualization and alphalisting processes
- Review final pay computations and related documents for submission to customers.
- Work directly with clients to achieve organizational goals as required.
- Process and review end-to-end payroll for multiple clients using cloud-based payroll systems.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related client inquiries and issue resolution.
- Provide expert advice and proactive recommendations on payroll best practices and process improvements.
Mentorship & Team Development
- Provide mentorship and training to junior payroll specialists on technical payroll processing, client management, and compliance standards.
- Review and validate the work of junior team members, offering constructive feedback and coaching.
- Promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the payroll team.
Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll workflows using technology and automation.
- Collaborate with other accounting and finance teams to enhance integration between payroll and other accounting functions.
Key Attributes
- Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel or Google Sheets
- High numerical aptitude and detailed-oriented
- Good time-management skills
- Can work with minimal supervision in an entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues proactively.
- Understanding the importance of handling sensitive payroll information with discretion.
- Willingness to learn and keep up with evolving payroll regulations and technology.
Qualifications
- Must possess at least Bachelors Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Finance/Accountancy, Mathematics or equivalent
- At least 1-2 years work experience as a Senior Payroll Specialist (Payroll, Accounting and Comp and Ben experience) with at least mentoring and leadership experience
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, labor legislation and regulations (tax and wage laws) and payroll best practices (for experienced)
- Experience with payroll/HR/timekeeping software is preferred.
