Role Overview
The Oracle 10g DBA / Oracle Forms Specialist will provide production-level technical validation and advisory support for a legacy Oracle 10g environment supporting AISIS.
This role requires hands-on production experience in Oracle 10g, Oracle Forms & Reports runtime environments, and enterprise production operations under licensing and tooling constraints. The resource must demonstrate real-world diagnostic, stabilization, backup, recovery, and change management capabilities within constrained environments.
Core Responsibilities
A. Oracle 10g Production DBA Experience
- Demonstrate hands-on Oracle 10g production DBA experience.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues in live production environments.
- Handle performance issues such as:
- Blocking
- Latch contention
- Slow queries
- Resource saturation
- Utilize appropriate diagnostic views, logs, and tools during troubleshooting.
- Implement corrective resolutions based on root cause findings.
B. Oracle Forms & Reports (Legacy Runtime Support)
- Provide production support for Oracle Forms (including version-specific support).
- Diagnose runtime issues including:
- Runtime errors
- Performance delays
- Compilation issues
- Execute proper diagnostic procedures.
- Implement and document resolution steps applied in production.
C. Oracle Enterprise Production Operations
- Manage Oracle 10g in a live production environment.
- Perform:
- Incident response
- Performance stabilization
- Backup and recovery (e.g., RMAN or equivalent)
- Patch application
- Change management
- Capacity monitoring
- Uptime management
- Operate with direct operational ownership (not advisory-only).
D. Operating in Constrained Environments
- Support Oracle environments where:
- Advanced diagnostic/tuning packs are unavailable, or
- Licensing constraints limit optional database features.
- Perform diagnostic and tuning activities within licensing restrictions.
- Apply practical troubleshooting methodologies without reliance on advanced add-on tools.
E. Resource Commitment & Governance
- Confirm resource assignment to AISIS engagement if awarded.
- Confirm whether subcontracting is required for Oracle DBA or Forms-related work.
Required Experience
- Proven hands-on Oracle 10g production DBA experience.
- Production experience supporting Oracle Forms (runtime).
- Experience with legacy enterprise environments.
- Experience operating under licensing/tooling constraints.
- Demonstrated enterprise operational ownership.
