Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively within a cross‑functional team, balancing time, scope, and technical requirements to meet design specifications and project schedules.
- Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation of sheet metal enclosures, bus bars, heat sinks, and various electronics cooling mechanisms.
- Develop mechanical models and drawings in compliance with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards, including conducting complex tolerance stack‑up analyses.
- Define and execute experiments, tests, and validation procedures to evaluate and refine design concepts.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to reduce part complexity, streamline assembly, incorporate Poka‑Yoke, and ensure manufacturability, testability, and serviceability.
- Design products and sub‑components using manufacturing methods such as sheet metal fabrication, machining, casting, molding, extrusion, stamping, and 3D printing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant design experience in electronic systems development.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (Creo Parametric or similar).
- Strong background in Sheet Metal Design (highly preferred).
- Solid knowledge and practical experience with DFM/DFA, part reduction strategies, and Poka‑Yoke methodologies.
- Strong working understanding of GD&T and Tolerance Stack‑Up Analysis.
- Experience using numerical analysis tools such as ANSYS, or equivalent software.
- Ability to design, test, and validate concepts through well‑defined experiments and engineering procedures.
- Capability to interpret, correlate, and evaluate simulated and empirical data, including assessing uncertainty and identifying robust design solutions.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to independently handle tasks from concept to completion while meeting timeline and cost objectives.
- Knowledge or experience with Liquid Cooling Systems is a plus.
