The Senior Learning Design and Delivery Specialist is the design, development, execution, and continuous improvement of learning solutions that build employee capability and support business performance.
The role has primary responsibility for designing and executing structured onboarding experiences for new hires, ensuring that learning journeys are relevant, engaging, consistent, and aligned with organizational culture, role expectations, business processes, and required capabilities.
Beyond onboarding, the role designs and delivers learning interventions across various employee populations, partnering closely with business leaders, HR partners, subject matter experts, and external learning partners to translate business and capability needs into practical, high-quality learning solutions.
The role is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, demonstrate strong instructional design and facilitation expertise, and take end-to-end ownership of assigned learning programs—from needs analysis and learning architecture through development, implementation, measurement, and continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities
1. New Hire Onboarding
- Work independently on the design, development, and execution of new hire onboarding programs and learning journeys.
- Work with People & Culture, business teams, managers, and subject matter experts to identify the knowledge, skills, and behaviors new employees need to succeed.
- Develop onboarding materials, learning paths, schedules, activities, and resources for different employee groups.
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of onboarding programs and continuously improve the experience based on feedback and outcomes.
2. Learning Design and Content Development
- Design and develop learning programs and materials based on identified business and learning needs.
- Create engaging learning content such as presentations, facilitator guides, activities, assessments, job aids, and other learning resources.
- Apply adult learning and instructional design principles to create practical and effective learning experiences.
- Adapt learning solutions for different audiences, roles, and learning formats, including classroom, virtual, blended, and self-paced learning.
3. Learning Delivery and Facilitation
- Facilitate onboarding programs, training sessions, workshops, and other capability-building initiatives.
- Create an engaging learning environment using effective facilitation and presentation techniques.
- Work with facilitators and subject matter experts to ensure consistent and effective learning delivery.
4. Learning Program Execution
- Manage the end-to-end execution of assigned learning programs, from planning and preparation through delivery and closeout.
- Coordinate schedules, participants, communications, facilitators, SMEs, vendors, materials, venues, and learning platforms as needed.
- Manage multiple learning initiatives and ensure programs are delivered on time and to expected quality standards.
- Manage and maintain learning programs, assignments, and learner records through LMS platforms.
5. Learning Measurement and Improvement
- Gather and analyze learner feedback, participation data, assessments, and other learning results.
- Identify opportunities to improve learning content, delivery, onboarding experiences, and learning processes.
- Prepare learning reports, dashboards, and insights to support stakeholder decisions and program improvements.
6. Stakeholder Partnership and Learning Innovation
- Partner with business leaders, people managers, HR partners, SMEs, and vendors to develop relevant learning solutions.
- Guide SMEs and stakeholders in translating business knowledge into effective learning content.
- Stay updated on learning trends, technologies, and tools and recommend new approaches that improve the learner experience.
- Contribute to learning standards, processes, tools, and other People & Culture initiatives as needed.
