About the Role:
The Senior IT Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and operational readiness of critical business systems. This role supports critical daily cycle processes, assists users with production issues, and maintains visibility into cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a strong technical contributor with experience troubleshooting complex issues, automating workflows, and proactively monitoring cloud environments. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong collaboration, and a deep understanding of modern IT operations, security, and cloud architecture.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide advanced technical support, configuration, and troubleshooting for core applications, acting as a Tier-2 resource for escalated Service Desk issues, using a deep understanding of IT ecosystem tools to resolve problems efficiently.
Utilize hands-on experience with automation tools and cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS, to enhance operational efficiency and minimize manual intervention.
Monitor cloud infrastructure health and performance across production environments, ensuring visibility into critical systems and proactive detection of operational issues.
Design and modify complex automation workflows or batch processes to streamline operations and improve system performance.
Support critical business processes, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring critical business processes remain stable, reliable, and well supported across AWS environments.
Apply expertise in network security, application security, and file share permissions to protect critical business assets and maintain a secure IT environment.
Resolve security vulnerabilities for servers and workstations using patch management systems.
Manage application issue resolution by coordinating with business units, IT professionals, and vendors to ensure timely and effective solutions.
Lead incident management efforts, focusing on timely resolution of issues, particularly during cycle support, while identifying root causes and implementing necessary corrective actions.
Adhere to established configuration and change management policies to ensure all changes are documented, approved, and successfully implemented.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional experience.
AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or higher
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years experience in IT operations, with a focus on troubleshooting, incident management, and automation.
Ability to resolve complex technical issues. (Tier 2+)
Hands-on experience with EC2, S3, and CloudWatch for instance management and monitoring.
Experience monitoring cloud infrastructure using Datadog, CloudWatch, or equivalent tools.
Experience managing and building new automation / batch workflow configurations.
Experience with Windows server and/or workstation patching.
Solid understanding of Active Directory, group policies, etc.
Strong understanding of network and application security.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead Root Cause Analysis meetings
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with ITIL 4 Frameworks.
