Job Description

Role Objective

Our client is seeking a high-caliber Senior Financial Controller with a background in elite-tier accounting firms to lead and manage the full financial lifecycle of the organization. This role oversees everything from day-to-day General Ledger integrity to high-level strategic financial planning, budgeting, and multinational consolidations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader capable of navigating the financial complexities of a global healthcare consultancy, while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis (FP&A)

Strategic Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with in-depth analysis of variances, financial trends, and performance drivers.
  • Deliver clear financial insights to support executive-level decision making.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and manage quarterly rolling forecasts.
  • Partner with department leaders to align financial plans with strategic business objectives.

Ad-hoc Financial Analysis

  • Provide the CFO and executive leadership team with data-driven analysis to support investment decisions, cost optimization, and growth initiatives.

2. External Audit & Controllership

Audit Leadership

  • Lead and manage end-to-end external audit engagements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth audits and zero-finding reports.

Financial Consolidation

  • Manage complex financial consolidations across multiple international entities, currencies, and jurisdictions.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and monitor robust internal control frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/FRS accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

3. Operational Excellence

General Ledger Management

  • Ensure the General Ledger remains the single source of truth through rigorous monthly reconciliations and financial accuracy.

Process Optimization & Automation

  • Drive improvements in accounting processes, reporting workflows, and ERP utilization.
  • Implement automation initiatives to improve efficiency, reporting speed, and data accuracy.

Mandatory Requirements

Big 4 Pedigree

  • Minimum 35 years of experience in a Big 4 accounting firm (PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG), preferably within External Audit.

Professional Certification

  • Active CA or CPA qualification is required.

Senior-Level Experience

  • 10+ years of total accounting and finance experience.
  • At least 4 years in a Controller, Finance Manager, or equivalent leadership role.

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Multinational financial consolidation
  • End-to-end external audit management
  • Advanced financial reporting

FP&A Capability

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Executive Communication

  • Exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to present complex financial information to executive stakeholders and leadership teams.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working with multinational or consulting organizations.
  • Strong ERP systems experience and finance automation initiatives.
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
