We are looking for a Senior Finance Executive / Assistant Manager with deep, hands-on e-commerce finance & accounting expertise to take complete ownership of our marketplace and D2C accounting, reconciliations, compliance and reporting.

Role Snapshot:

• Designation: Senior Finance Executive / Assistant Manager (based on experience)

• Experience: 4–5 years, strictly in e-commerce / D2C / marketplace finance & accounting

• Reports to: Head – Finance & Accounts

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end marketplace and D2C reconciliation across marketplaces, quick-commerce platforms, Shopify, payment gateways, and logistics partners, covering sales, payouts, fees, deductions, TCS/TDS, and COD settlements.

• Track and recover financial discrepancies including unsettled orders, short payments, chargebacks, returns, RTOs, refunds, damaged/lost inventory claims, and marketplace reimbursements.

• Manage channel-wise sales accounting and book closure, including revenue, returns, discounts, cancellations, credit notes, marketplace fees, marketing spends, accruals, provisions, and ledger scrutiny.

• Manage inventory reconciliation across warehouses, 3PLs, and marketplace fulfilment centres, including damaged, expired, in-transit inventory and COGS.

• Drive GST, TDS/TCS and statutory compliance by preparing reconciliations, supporting returns and filings, and ensuring correct treatment of e-commerce transactions across multiple GST registrations.

• Prepare MIS and management reports covering channel-wise P&L, contribution margins, unit economics, receivable ageing, returns, cash flow, reconciliations, recoveries, and compliance status.

• Drive process improvements and automation across finance operations by identifying gaps, strengthening controls and SOPs, and leveraging Excel, Power Query, and other tools to improve accuracy and reduce closing timelines.

Requirements:

• 4–5 years of hands-on experience in e-commerce / D2C / marketplace finance & accounting is mandatory. Candidates without direct marketplace reconciliation experience will not be considered.

• In-depth knowledge of marketplace business models and settlement reports – should be able to explain any Amazon / Flipkart / quick-commerce settlement line by line.

• Strong accounting fundamentals with hands-on experience in Tally Prime / ERP; exposure to Shopify, Unicommerce, EasyEcom or similar tools is a strong plus.

• Advanced MS Excel – Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Power Query; comfortable working with large order-level data.

• Strong working knowledge of GST and TDS / TCS as applicable to e-commerce, including multi-state compliance.

• Experience in cleaning up backlogs and bringing unreconciled books to closure will be highly valued.

• Qualification: CA Inter / CMA / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / B.Com with relevant e-commerce experience.
