Job Responsibilities:
- Design, qualify, and develop Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) in accordance with project and product requirements.
- Contribute to design conceptualization, including schematic generation, mechanical packaging, and PCB layout for assigned projects.
- Perform circuit breadboarding, fine-tuning, power-up, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with electrical and performance specifications.
- Execute Design Verification Testing (DVT) and conduct necessary circuit simulations and tolerance analyses for assigned designs.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) with careful consideration of component quality, cost, availability, and reliability.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting of switch mode power supplies and related circuits.
- Ensure that all BOM components are qualified, preferred, and multi-sourced to support production and supply continuity.
- Generate accurate, well-documented, and controlled test reports, design documents, and engineering records.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and task execution to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate with cross-functional support groups to address technical issues and ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
- Participate in project meetings and design reviews, providing technical input and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including manufacturing, safety, quality assurance (QA), and customer support.
- Provide engineering support to safety compliance, QA activities, and customer inquiries, as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience, particularly in the following areas:
- Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design
- Use of simulation tools in product development
- Research and Development (R&D) environments
- Circuit operation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively as a team player in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
