The Data Analyst will be a key expert advisor to the business, unlocking the value of C&I data through the provision of accurate and timely information to support the decisions our people make every day. The role will focus on developing robust reporting, providing analytical insights, and enhancing data driven decision making across the organization.Strong SQL and Power BI capabilities are essential to succeed in this role.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the development and delivery of data and insights contributing to C&I growth, operational efficiency, and enabling data-informed decision making.
- Proactively identify and take ownership of data issues impacting business processes and reports and implement solutions & controls to resolve issues and improve quality and integrity of data.
- Scope and develop new or improved reports/dashboards for the business to effectively determine key customer insights and potential financial opportunity
- Advance organizational skills and attention to detail
- Consistent plans in a collaborative manner, ensuring stakeholder input is obtained with sufficient lead time to support delivery outcomes
- Consistently takes end to end ownership of initiative delivery, being across the detail of deliverables produced by self and others
Data and Reporting:
- Design, develop and maintain automated dashboards and reports in Power BI.
- Build and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to ensure data accuracy and performance.
- Develop data pipelines and workflows to support reporting needs and ensure timely data refreshes
- Maintain documentation for all reporting assets and data processes.
Proactive Insights:
Support the team in generating actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders across the energy value chain (strategy , sales, pricing, customer, operations)
Business Engagement:
- Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Present insights clearly through visualization, data storytelling, and concise summaries
- Support the adoption of self-service analytics across the organization.
Data and Quality & Governance:
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timelines across all reporting assets.
- Contribute to data governance practices and continuous improvement of data processes using AI.
- Support the identification and resolution of data quality issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a data reporting or analytics role ideally within the energy, utilities, or similar complex industry.
- Strong SQL skills
- Demonstrated experience developing enterprise -grade dashboards in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modelling).
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex datasets and translate findings into clear insights.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality outputs within tight timelines
- Amenable to work onsite in Eastwood location.
