The Senior Wafer Planner is responsible for developing and executing wafer production plans to meet customer demand, optimize fab capacity, and ensure on-time delivery of semiconductor products. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep understanding of wafer fabrication processes, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions including manufacturing, procurement, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain wafer start plans based on demand forecasts, inventory targets, and fab capacity constraints.
- Balance short-term and long-term planning to optimize cycle time and throughput.
- Analyze fab capacity and identify bottlenecks; propose solutions to maximize utilization.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align production schedules with equipment availability.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Business Planning to ensure accurate translation of customer requirements into wafer start plans.
- Monitor demand changes and adjust plans accordingly to minimize risk of shortages or excess inventory.
- Track wafer starts, WIP (Work-In-Process), and cycle time performance; provide regular reports to management.
- Use advanced planning tools and ERP systems to maintain accurate data and generate insights.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reduce cycle time, and enhance delivery performance.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to implement best practices in wafer planning.
- Strong knowledge of wafer fabrication processes and cycle time management.
- Proficiency SAP and advanced planning tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
