Job Overview

We are seeking a highly efficient and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage end-to-end financial operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for high-volume reconciliations, Accounts Payable and Receivable, payroll processing, intercompany transactions, and compliance reporting using Xero. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, thrives under pressure, and delivers accurate, timely results while working closely with an external accountant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily financial transactions, ensuring accurate recording, categorisation, and allocation in Xero.
  • Handle end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor invoices and receivables follow-up.
  • Perform frequent bank account and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Reconcile high-volume, complex courier invoices with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Create and manage intercompany invoices to support internal fund transfers.
  • Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Apply credit card surcharges to applicable transactions and customer invoices.
  • Prepare BAS statements for review and support month-end, year-end, PAYG, and EOFY reporting by collaborating with the external accountant.

Requirements Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience using Xero for all bookkeeping functions.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Principles, including GST, BAS, PAYG, and EOFY requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in complex reconciliations and data entry.
  • Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently while maintaining up-to-date financial records.
