Sr. Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Accounting Specialist. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing and overseeing the financial and tax-related functions of an organization. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws, preparing financial statements, and providing expert advice on tax planning and financial strategies. This role typically requires a high level of expertise in both accounting and tax regulations.

Accounting Function (60%)

• Perform and maintain a full set of accounting records and be in charge of the monthly financial closing procedure.
• Liaise with company secretaries and regional authorities for statutory requirements.
• Assists and prepares the tax return filing including but not limited to corporate income tax, VAT returns, and withholding tax returns in accordance with laws and regulations.
• Prepare financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).

Tax Function (40%)

• Monitor and ensure tax compliance of the company to prevent significant tax issue risks from arising.
• Collaborate closely with the head office in Taiwan to address taxation matters related to business operations and projects (i.e. advise on withholding tax, tax treaties, transfer pricing issues, etc.)
• Liaise with external tax consultants and tax authorities on tax-related matters.
• Support ad hoc projects (e.g. tax incentive applications)

Job Requirements:

• University Degree, or professional qualification in Accounting, Business, and Finance
• At least 4 years relevant experience with Big Four Accounting firms or MNC exposure (Technology industry experience is preferred)
• Good knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards, tax regulations, and tax treaties of the Philippines.
• Good computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
• A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English (able to speak in Mandarin is a plus)
