Specialist, Technology Audit (Application, AI & Data), Group Audit

Business Function

Group Audit provides independent assurance to the Board and Senior Management on the effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes.

The Applications, AI & Data Audit team focuses on assessing risks and controls across business applications, software engineering practices, data platforms, analytics solutions, AI-enabled systems and emerging AI technologies.

This role is designed for auditors who can leverage data analytics, automation, agentic and generative AI with innovative audit techniques to deliver deeper insights, greater audit coverage and more effective assurance.

Responsibilities:

Data

• Assess governance, quality, lineage, integrity and usage of enterprise data.
• Perform data-driven audit testing across large populations using analytics and automation.
• Conduct data wrangling, reconciliation, anomaly detection and exception analysis.
• Build reusable audit analytics scripts and automated audit testing routines.
• Support continuous auditing and monitoring initiatives through analytics.
  
  

AI-Enabled Auditing

• Use AI copilots, AI agents and automation tools to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop innovative audit approaches using AI-assisted testing and analytics.
• Critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and validate conclusions through professional scepticism.
• Contribute to the transformation of audit methodologies through AI and automation.
  
  

AI & Emerging Technology

• Assess governance and controls for AI, machine learning and generative AI solutions.
• Evaluate risks relating to model governance, data privacy, explainability, monitoring and responsible AI practices.
• Review AI development and deployment processes.
• Assess controls around AI agents, LLM-based solutions and emerging AI technologies.
• Identify risks relating to hallucinations, prompt injection, model misuse and unauthorized data exposure.
  
  

Application Audits

• Participate in audits of business applications, digital platforms and technology-enabled solutions.
• Evaluate application controls and review risks associated with APIs, microservices, cloud-native applications and modern architecture patterns.
• Identify control gaps, determine root causes and develop practical recommendations.
  
  

Experience in three or more areas in the list below:

• Data analytics, data management, data governance or data quality assessment.
• Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, AI agents or AI-enabled solutions.
• Python programming, automation, scripting or analytics tooling.
• APIs and modern application architectures.
• Application development, software engineering, Agile delivery or DevOps practices.
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience in software engineering, data analytics, AI, technology risk, cybersecurity, cloud technologies or related fields.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns, risks and control considerations.
• Working knowledge of data analytics, automation and modern technology platforms.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL or similar technologies used for data analysis and automation.
• Strong interest in emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, data-driven solutions and digital innovation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Curious, self-motivated and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes through technology, data and AI.
