Job Description
About the role
We are seeking a Solution Architect who can turn business requirements into practical enterprise solution designs and guide those designs through implementation. You will own solution-level architecture, evaluate options and trade-offs, and align engineering, product, operations, security, and business stakeholders on a clear technical direction. The focus is on secure, scalable, resilient, supportable, and cost-effective solutions—not expertise in every technology listed.
What you will do
- Own solution designs that translate business requirements, technical constraints, and enterprise standards into clear implementation guidance.
- Assess architecture and technology options; document decisions, trade-offs, assumptions, and design rationale.
- Define target-state architectures, integration approaches, transition strategies, and implementation roadmaps.
- Lead discovery workshops, technical assessments, architecture reviews, and proofs of concept to validate design choices.
- Partner with delivery teams from discovery through implementation and operational readiness, resolving design issues and identifying risks, dependencies, and technical debt early.
- Build agreement across technical and business stakeholders, explain recommendations clearly, and influence decisions without direct authority.
- Embed security, resilience, observability, supportability, and cost considerations in designs; promote simplification, reuse, standardization, and automation.
What you will bring
- 8+ years of relevant technical experience, including responsibility for designing or guiding enterprise technology solutions. Experience may come from software, cloud, platform, infrastructure, database engineering, DevOps, automation, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated ownership of solution architecture in complex environments, with examples of translating business needs into designs and guiding implementation.
- A hands-on engineering foundation in cloud or platform services, with working knowledge of REST APIs, systems integration, source control, CI/CD, and programming or scripting.
- Ability to create clear architecture documentation, compare design alternatives, explain trade-offs, and develop practical transition roadmaps and implementation plans.
- Experience designing for or supporting production environments, including resilience, monitoring, operational supportability, incident management, and lifecycle management.
- Strong systems thinking and problem-solving, with experience facilitating discussions, aligning stakeholders, and providing cross-functional technical direction.
Technology examples—not a mandatory checklist—include GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins; C, Python, PowerShell, or Go; and JSON or YAML. Equivalent tools and transferable engineering experience are welcome. The priority is applying technology to sound solution design, not matching every tool name.
Additional strengths (optional)
- Deeper experience in security and identity architecture, observability, or cost optimization.
- Experience in Agile, SAFe, DevOps, or similar delivery environments.
- Executive-ready presentations, technical storytelling, and the ability to learn new technologies and business domains quickly.
