Solutions Architect & Pre-Sales Engineer

The Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, presenting, and technically validating LaQuest's enterprise video security, video management, AI-powered analytics, and smart infrastructure solutions.

You will work closely with customers and the sales team to understand requirements, develop the right technical architecture, conduct demonstrations and proofs of concept, and support proposals and tenders.

You will also provide technical guidance during implementation to ensure that the solution delivered matches the approved design and performs as intended.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining solution design, technical presentations, system architecture, and hands-on technology.

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Solution Design

1. Conduct technical discovery sessions with customers to understand security, operational, infrastructure, and integration requirements.
2. Design complete solutions covering IP cameras, video management systems, AI video analytics, servers, storage, networking, and supporting infrastructure.
3. Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops, and proofs of concept.
4. Perform system capacity planning, including server sizing, storage requirements, bandwidth calculations, recording requirements, and future scalability.
5. Perform hardware and software compatibility assessments to ensure proposed components can operate together reliably.
6. Develop solution architecture, integration architecture, and data flow diagrams showing how systems and components communicate.
7. Prepare technical bills of materials, system architecture diagrams, compliance matrices, technical specifications, and supporting proposal documentation.
8. Review customer requirements, Terms of Reference, tender specifications, and technical requirements.
9. Conduct site surveys when required to validate system design and infrastructure conditions.
10. Translate technical capabilities into clear operational and business value for technical teams, management, and executive stakeholders.

Technical Implementation Support

1. Provide technical guidance during installation, configuration, integration, testing, and commissioning.
2. Support configuration of video management systems, cameras, servers, storage, analytics, network settings, user access, and system policies.
3. Coordinate with project engineers, installers, subcontractors, client IT teams, and security teams.
4. Validate system performance before turnover, including recording, storage, connectivity, analytics, and overall system operation.
5. Troubleshoot technical issues during demonstrations, proofs of concept, deployment, and commissioning.
6. Conduct administrator training, customer walkthroughs, and technical handover sessions.
7. Support the preparation of system documentation, configuration records, commissioning reports, and as-built documentation.

Technical Development

1. Maintain strong knowledge of enterprise video security, video management systems, AI video analytics, IP surveillance, servers, storage, and networking.
2. Maintain awareness of competing technologies and developments within the physical security industry.
3. Build and maintain demonstration and proof-of-concept environments.
4. Complete company-supported technical training and certification programs.
5. Develop reusable solution architectures, configuration standards, sizing methods, and technical best practices.
6. Represent LaQuest during customer meetings, technical workshops, trade events, exhibitions, and partner activities.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
2. At least 2 to 3 years of experience in CCTV, IP surveillance, VMS, physical security systems, systems integration, deployment, or technical pre-sales.
3. Hands-on experience with IP cameras, NVRs, video management systems, servers, storage, and network infrastructure.
4. Good understanding of IP networking, VLANs, switches, bandwidth planning, storage sizing, and basic server infrastructure.
5. Ability to understand customer requirements and convert them into technically sound system designs.
6. Experience with technical presentations, demonstrations, proofs of concept, or customer-facing engineering is an advantage.
7. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and presentation skills.
8. Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
9. Willingness to undergo company-supported technical training and certification, which may be conducted in the Philippines or overseas.
10. Willingness to travel to customer and project sites throughout the Philippines when required.
