Solar Design Engineer (PV)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed PV system designs, including:
  • Panel layout and system configuration
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
  • DC and AC cable routing and sizing
  • Inverter sizing and string configuration
• Perform energy yield simulations and shading analysis using industry tools
• Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and support cost estimation for projects
• Optimize system designs to improve performance, efficiency, and overall project value (e.g., yield, cost, capacity)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, project managers, and engineers) across different regions
• Review and validate design outputs to ensure quality and compliance with standards
• Contribute to process improvements, best practices, and knowledge sharing within the team
• Ensure all designs comply with company standards, safety regulations, and local codes

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field) or Architecture
• At least 3-4 years of experience in engineering design, with a minimum of 2 years in solar PV design
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools
• Experience with solar design software such as PVSyst (Helioscope or similar tools are a plus)
• Solid understanding of PV system design, including layouts, electrical design, and performance analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical decisions
• Proactive, resourceful, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and collaboration skills, especially in a global team setting
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
