About R&D:
The R&D organization at ANSR MedTech is being built to support the development, testing, and long-term sustainment of complex, regulated products used at global scale.
This team plays a critical role in engineering excellence, product quality, and operational reliability, working closely with global R&D leaders to deliver against well-defined technical standards, quality systems, and product outcomes.
Unlike a traditional offshore or support model, R&D in India is designed to take on meaningful ownership across the product lifecycle, particularly in areas where scale, focus, and execution discipline are essential.
What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out:
- Work on real, production grade products that require high engineering rigor, reliability, and regulatory discipline.
- Be part of a team that spans embedded software, mobile applications, systems engineering, test automation, and lifecycle engineering.
- Contribute to end-to-end R&D workflows—from development and verification through sustaining engineering and triage.
- Help build and scale a new R&D capability from the ground up, shaping labs, automation, ways of working, and quality culture.
- Partner directly with senior global R&D leaders and engineers, gaining exposure to how products are built and operated at enterprise scale.
How the R&D Team Operates:
- Teams are based in India and embedded in day-to-day delivery, not isolated support functions.
- Technical direction, quality standards, and product outcomes are globally aligned, with strong local execution and accountability.
- The organization is built under a Build–Operate–Transfer (BOT) model with ANSR, with responsibilities expanding as the site matures.
- Success is measured by engineering quality, predictable delivery, adherence to quality systems, reduced defects over time, and strong collaboration with global R&D teams.
Role Overview:
The Quality Engineering Manager leads a modern QE team responsible for building quality into enterprise platforms, business applications, APIs, integrations, and connected web/mobile experiences from design through release readiness, including Salesforce CRM, MuleSoft, and related ecosystem integrations. This role goes beyond test execution to shape quality strategy, improve engineering feedback loops, scale robust automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and ACCELQ, and apply AI to accelerate test design, risk analysis, and defect triage with appropriate human oversight. The manager partners closely with Product, Engineering, Release, and specialist teams to drive shift left practices, strengthen performance confidence, and provide clear, data driven release recommendations.
Key Responsibilities – People Leadership:
- Lead and grow a team of 20 quality engineers, evolving capabilities across functional testing, automation, and non-functional quality rather than operating as a manual execution team.
- Hire, onboard, and conduct regular 1:1s; set clear goals, provide continuous feedback, and run performance reviews tied to growth plans.
- Mentor QE Leads and senior engineers on risk-based quality strategy, test design excellence, enterprise application domain depth, and effective use of automation frameworks, Java/Selenium, ACCELQ, Polarion, and AI enabled accelerators.
- Own career development for direct reports: create Individual Development Plans (IDPs), sponsor certifications and capability growth in automation engineering, quality engineering, and domain-relevant technologies, and cultivate a coaching culture.
- Model inclusive leadership; foster psychological safety, recognition, and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities – Delivery & Operations:
- Define and evolve the quality engineering strategy for enterprise platforms, business applications, Salesforce CRM, MuleSoft, APIs, and other integrations, embedding risk-based coverage, traceability, and audit ready evidence across functional and non functional validation.
- Establish and scale an automation first model by defining and evolving robust automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and ACCELQ, ensuring the team automates high value scenarios early, expands regression coverage, and reduces reliance on repetitive manual execution.
- Apply AI for testing to accelerate test design, optimize regression selection, summarize failures, identify risk hotspots, and improve defect triage while maintaining human review and quality governance.
- Orchestrate continuous quality activities across feature development, System Integration Testing (SIT), Design Verification (DV) testing, regression, and release readiness, ensuring fast feedback loops and clear go/no go recommendations.
- Partner with Product/Eng/Release to sequence testing around dependencies, test data, and environment readiness (incl. synthetic/masked data where appropriate).
- Elevate quality insights: define and publish metrics (coverage, defect leakage, pass rates, flakiness), and present clear status/risk narratives to leadership.
- Drive performance awareness within test cycles by defining early non functional quality checks, validating key response time and stability risks, and partnering with specialists when deeper performance engineering or security testing is required.
- Coordinate vendor/manage service testers as needed, ensuring consistent standards and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities – Stakeholder & Communication:
- Provide executive ready quality narratives, dashboards, and release recommendations that connect engineering signals to business risk, customer impact, and delivery confidence.
- Proactively align with upper management and cross functional leaders across US and Europe time zones (early/late syncs as needed).
- Facilitate decision making with crisp options/impacts; manage up and manage across to unblock quality risks quickly.
Candidate Profile – Required:
- 8+ years in software quality, testing, or quality engineering, including proven leadership experience managing engineering or QE teams in Agile delivery environments.
- Deep experience driving quality for enterprise platforms and business critical applications, including APIs, MuleSoft, integrations, end to end workflows, and platform level risk management.
- Experience leading System Integration Testing (SIT) and Design Verification (DV) testing for business-critical systems, with an understanding of documentation rigor, traceability, and validation expectations in regulated environments.
- Strong people leadership: mentoring, coaching, performance management, and career development for direct reports.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks and an automation first delivery model, including Java, Selenium WebDriver, ACCELQ, and test design patterns, with the ability to coach teams to automate earlier and use Polarion ALM for end to end test governance.
- Practical experience applying AI enabled testing techniques and using quality signals to improve test design, defect triage, and release confidence, plus working knowledge of performance testing concepts and non functional risk assessment.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance expectations relevant to software quality in regulated environments, including FDA, GDPR, and GxP principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to craft executive ready narratives and influence decisions.
- Comfort synchronizing with teams and leadership across US/Europe time zones.
- Proactive, outcomes-oriented mindset with strong risk management and stakeholder alignment skills.
Candidate Profile – Preferred:
- Experience in regulated environments (medical devices/healthcare) with working knowledge of FDA expectations, GDPR, GxP, and risk-based validation approaches such as CSA.
- Certifications or demonstrated experience in automation engineering, Selenium/Java ecosystems, ACCELQ, Salesforce CRM testing, MuleSoft, API testing, enterprise application testing, or ISTQB are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated use of AI/GenAI in QA for faster test authoring, smarter failure analysis, and improved quality decision making, along with exposure to performance validation tools and practices.
Tools & Environment:
Enterprise platforms and business applications, including Salesforce CRM, MuleSoft, APIs and integration technologies, Java, Selenium WebDriver, ACCELQ, test automation frameworks, Polarion (plus), Jira/Azure DevOps, BrowserStack, Postman/RestAssured, AI enabled testing assistants and analytics tools, and performance validation platforms such as JMeter, LoadRunner, k6, or equivalent, plus Microsoft 365. Experience with quality metrics, release dashboards, and engineering feedback signals is strongly valued.
