WHAT THIS INTERNSHIP ACTUALLY IS

This is not a typical internship. We run this program specifically to identify the next generation of entry-level QA Engineers for our core tech team. If you perform well, there is a real and direct path to joining ChatGenie full-time as a Software QA Engineer.

Quality is not an afterthought at ChatGenie — it is embedded in how we ship. Our platform handles thousands of enterprise customer interactions daily, which means a missed bug or a flawed test suite has real consequences. We are looking for people who are meticulous, think adversarially about software, and genuinely care about what gets shipped.

A note on intellectual honesty:

We take authenticity seriously throughout our hiring process. Submissions that rely on AI-generated content without genuine understanding will be identified and disqualified. We are not looking for people who can copy and paste — we are looking for people who can think critically, break things on purpose, and grow.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

• Write, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases for backend APIs and frontend features
• Test and validate our 2-agent AI system (Guard Agent and Orchestrator Agent) for accuracy, edge cases, and failure modes
• Design and run regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites across our Ruby on Rails backend and Vue.js frontend
• Validate MCP integrations and API contracts between ChatGenie and client systems (CRMs, ticketing platforms, databases)
• Document bugs clearly with reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, and severity assessments
• Collaborate with developers to understand feature requirements and define acceptance criteria before development begins
• Contribute to improving our CI/CD pipeline quality gates using Bitbucket Pipelines
• Submit daily progress journals and weekly QA status reports

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Education: Fresh graduate or graduating student in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Interest in AI automation for testing and productivity improvements.
• Basic understanding of software testing concepts: test cases, test plans, bug reporting, regression testing
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs — ability to test endpoints using tools like Postman or cURL
• Experience or exposure to Git, GitHub, or GitLab for version control
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to think like an adversarial user
• Ability to read and understand code — you don't need to build features, but you need to know what the code is supposed to do
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Vue.js, or GraphQL is a strong plus
• Basic understanding of databases (PostgreSQL or similar) for data validation testing is a plus
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English — clear bug reports matter

60-DAY PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Phase 1 — Self-Learning & Assessment (2 Weeks)

• Week 1: Ruby on Rails fundamentals + QA tooling setup (Postman, Git, test case writing) → Assessment: Write a comprehensive test plan and bug report for a sample CRUD web app
• Week 2: GraphQL + Vue.js testing fundamentals → Assessment: Write and execute test cases for a GraphQL-based web app, document all findings

Phase 2 — Immersion (2 Weeks)

• Embedded with the development team — testing real production features on ChatGenie's platform before they ship
• Own the QA cycle for assigned features: requirements review, test case design, execution, and sign-off
• Daily collaboration with senior developers through code reviews, bug triage, and sprint ceremonies

Phase 3 — Generative AI Track (4 Weeks)

• Test AI-driven features including LLM API integrations, agent response accuracy, and edge case handling
• Final assessment: Design and execute a full QA test suite for a generative AI-powered feature end-to-end

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

• Daily progress journals submitted consistently
• Independent learning through provided modules — guidance is available, but initiative is required
• Passing the 1st Assessment (end of Week 1) and 2nd Assessment (end of Week 2) to advance through the program
• Honest, original work at every stage — your submissions reflect your real capability
• A working laptop/desktop with a stable internet connection (remote setup)
• Openness to transitioning into a full-time entry-level Software QA Engineer role after the program

You will be testing against and working within the following environment:

• Backend: Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, ElastiCache
• Frontend: Vue.js
• Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, RDS, CloudWatch, S3), Cloudflare
• AI / LLM Layer: GPT-5.2, Amazon Bedrock (Cohere Embed v4 Multilingual)
• Integration Protocol: MCP (Model Context Protocol) for external system connectivity
• CI/CD: Bitbucket Pipelines, ArgoCD
• Version Control: Bitbucket / Git

You are not expected to know all of these on day one. You are expected to learn them fast.
