Job Description

We are currently looking for a Software Engineer Application Support to join our growing team. This role is ideal for highly technical professionals who thrive in a fastpaced, production support environment and are eager to work with enterprise applications.

Role: Software Engineer (Application Support)

NonNegotiable Requirements

  • At least 2 years of working experience in Application Support
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • UNIX
  • SQL
  • Basic Java
  • Willing to work on production support
  • Willing to work on a 24x7 shifting schedule (including weekends and holidays)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience or exposure to:
  • Perl
  • PostgreSQL
  • Highly technical, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive, takes initiative, and adapts to changing workloads
  • Creative problem-solver with strong troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in a support-oriented environment and willing to perform support tasks

Desired / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of:
  • DB2
  • Datastage
  • Java (J2EE, Spring, Hibernate)
  • Eclipse / NetBeans
  • ServiceNow
  • ESP / Stonebranch
  • GitHub
  • Experience in technical documentation (Flowcharts, DFDs, Component Diagrams)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end support for Configuration Items including:
  • Incident resolution
  • Minor enhancements
  • Permanent fixes
  • Tools development
  • Maintain and update workarounds and knowledge base articles
  • Ensure timely resolution of incidents and communicate SLA risks to Support Leads or Incident Managers
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors during incident investigations
  • Execute and monitor ad hoc requests and proactive support services
  • Participate in projects as Designer, Tester, or Implementer
  • Communicate daily with onshore internal and external customers via email, IM, or conference calls
  • Take on functional ownership and other ad hoc tasks as assigned by management
