What We Need:
We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who combines strong software engineering skills with a passion for quality. This role is focused on designing, building, and scaling test automation solutions across web, mobile, and API platforms.
As a senior member of the team, you will partner closely with Product, Engineering, UX, and QA stakeholders to develop automation frameworks, improve CI/CD quality signals, and drive quality improvements across the software development lifecycle. Experience working with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot is highly valued; however, successful candidates must independently validate, troubleshoot, and maintain high-quality, production-ready automation code.
Core Responsibilities
- Own and drive test automation strategy across web, mobile, and API layers.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using JavaScript, Node.js, Appium, Mocha, and WebdriverIO.
- Build reliable automated test coverage for complex user journeys and business-critical workflows.
- Develop automation solutions that integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and QA team members to ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and partner with development teams to resolve issues.
- Establish and promote automation best practices, coding standards, and quality engineering principles.
- Continuously improve test reliability, execution efficiency, maintainability, and reporting.
Must Have Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
- Strong hands-on programming experience with JavaScript and Node.js.
- Experience automating web, mobile, or API testing in a code-based automation framework.
- Experience troubleshooting complex application and test automation issues.
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
- Ability to review, debug, and maintain production-quality automation code.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Appium, WebdriverIO, and Mocha.
- Experience testing native and hybrid mobile applications.
- Experience automating complex API and UI workflows.
- Experience with authentication handling, session management, webhooks, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and application security testing practices.
- Experience with Jira, Postman, and Figma.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools.
