Software Architect

Reporting to : Sofware Development Manager

Role Objective

The Software Architect serves as a key technical leader responsible for designing and defining the architecture of our e.things cloud platform and associated services. Working

at the intersection of business requirements and technical implementation, you will create scalable, secure, and maintainable system designs that support our connected vehicle

ecosystem. Through collaboration with Product Management, Business Analysts, and engineering teams, you will translate complex business needs into robust technical

solutions while ensuring architectural consistency and quality across multiple concurrent projects.

Skills, interests, and experience required to succeed

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or comparable experience.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their architectural services and patterns
• Strong proficiency in system design methodologies and documentation tools such as:

o UML (Unified Modelling Language)

o ArchiMate or similar enterprise architecture frameworks

o System architecture diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Draw.io, Visio)

• Solid understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and best practices
• Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of database design, data modelling, and data pipeline architectures
• Understanding of security architecture principles, authentication/authorisation patterns, and compliance requirements
• Proven experience in software architecture and system design within technologydriven or SaaS environments, preferably 5+ years
• Strong background in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems design
• Hands-on experience with connected vehicle technologies, IoT platforms, automotive telematics, or enterprise SaaS solutions is highly desirable
• Track record of successfully architecting scalable, high-performance systems that handle large volumes of real-time data
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in agile development environments
• Background in API design, data architecture, and system integration patterns
• Familiarity with AI/ML system architectures, predictive analytics platforms, or machine learning model deployment

Technical Skills & Qualifications
