SOC Officer

This position is primarily responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to network cybersecurity threats to keep the security posture of the organization, maintain its compliance with security policies, and mitigate the cyber threats.The position is also responsible for overseeing the Security Operations Center (SOC) incident response efforts, and ensuring that security incidents are handled efficiently and effectively.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversees the response to high-priority network security incidents, including data breaches, malware attacks, and network intrusions. Ensures appropriate escalation and timely remediation.
• Utilizes SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other security monitoring tools to detect, analyze, and mitigate network security threats.
• Communicates with concerned units to provide updates about ongoing incidents and helps prioritize resources for incident response.
• Ensures all security incidents are logged, documented, and reported per organizational and regulatory requirements. Provide detailed post-incident analysis and recommendations.
• Updates the procedures on incident response workflows, security protocols, and escalation procedures to enhance SOC performance.
• Ensures SOC activities comply with internal security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Leads the team in monitoring network systems, threat intelligence, and security alerts.
  
  

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or any related field.
• Preferably with cybersecurity certifications
• At least three (3) years of work-related experience in cybersecurity operations, network engineering, and systems administration.
• Proficient in using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other security monitoring and threat detection tools.
• Knowledgeable in incident documentation, post-incident analysis, and regulatory/security compliance reporting.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, security policies, and industry standards related to SOC operations and incident response.
