Your Profile
The SME Account Officer/Business Development Executive is responsible to acquire, develop and manage profitable, good-quality SME relationships by prospecting and converting new-to-bank opportunities, expanding existing borrower relationships, assessing creditworthiness, structuring and packaging appropriate credit facilities, cross-selling relevant bank products, and ensuring effective account servicing, timely renewals, asset-quality preservation and compliance with bank and regulatory requirements. Also, role supports SME Banking growth by balancing business generation and relationship profitability with sound credit, risk and portfolio-management discipline.
Your Impact
A. Business Development and Client Acquisition
- Achieves assigned business targets through a portfolio that is income-generating and of acceptable quality.
- Sources potential SME clients through the bank ecosystem, branch and existing-client referrals, and own-generated leads.
- Conducts client calls, project visits and business-development activities independently or jointly with the SME Manager, Branch manager or referring personnel.
- Identifies client needs and business opportunities and develops suitable banking packages intended to support account profitability and continuing relationships.
- Acquires new-to-bank business while maintaining responsibility for developing existing clients.
B. Existing Portfolio Growth and Relationship Management
- Reviews existing borrower relationships for line increases, additional facilities and other business opportunities.
- Cross-sells applicable bank products, including Auto Loans, Personal Loans, Home Loans and Deposit products.
- Maintains continuing client contact and addresses account concerns, documentary deficiencies and receivable collection requirements.
- Applies approved ADB and pricing requirements and obtains appropriate approval for any waiver request.
C. Credit Assessment, Proposal Preparation and Approval Coordination
- Establishes the overall creditworthiness of prospective and existing borrowing relationships before submission to the approving body.
- Initiates property appraisal and/or credit investigation and reviews the resulting reports.
- Prepares the Application for Accommodation in coordination with RSCC and LAD.
- Packages credit proposals in accordance with bank, BSP and other regulatory guidelines.
- Checks whether accounts are DOSRI or related-party transactions and ensures applicable handling requirements are followed.
- Secures credit-proposal approval from the proper approving authorities.
D. Account Implementation and Servicing
- Coordinates implementation and servicing with LAD, Accounting, Legal, RCC and other relevant support units.
- Follows through on insurance-policy submission for newly booked accounts and renewal of coverage upon expiry, where applicable.
- Ensures timely collection of receivables, completion of documentary deficiencies and resolution of client-account concerns.
- Ensures accurate SME and Agri-Agra tagging.
E. Portfolio Monitoring, Renewals and Asset Quality Management
- Ensures OAAs are renewed and implemented on time.
- Monitors loan payments, maturities and renewal schedules and presents renewal requests early enough to avoid account delinquency.
- Monitors and classifies accounts promptly to preserve asset quality.
- Develops and follows through on necessary action plans for accounts requiring early care, with close monitoring intended to prevent migration to NPL.
Your Profile
- Graduate of any Bachelor's/College Degree program.
- With at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrates strong strategic thinking, leadership, and management capabilities.
- Banking experience with a background in lending, account management, and credit evaluation is an advantage.
