Smalltalk Engineer

Act as software detectives, provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems.

We are looking for a Custom Software Engineer. The role involves the design and implementation of functional and technical requirements in Smalltalk VisualWorks within a complex legacy application environment.

Responsibilities

. Analysis and assessment of requirements with regard to technical complexity

. Effort estimation for individual work packages

. Development of features and execution of unit tests to ensure code quality

. Documentation of implemented changes in accordance with project standards

. Root cause analysis and resolution of defects

Requirements

. Primary: Proficiency in Smalltalk VisualWorks, ideally 3+ years of hands-on experience

. Strong understanding of object-oriented design and architecture (OOP/OOD)

. Experience working with legacy codebases and established system architectures

. Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g. SUnit)

. Knowledge of version control and configuration management tools

. Database connectivity experience
