Job Description
Act as software detectives, provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems.
We are looking for a Custom Software Engineer. The role involves the design and implementation of functional and technical requirements in Smalltalk VisualWorks within a complex legacy application environment.
Responsibilities
Analysis and assessment of requirements with regard to technical complexity
Effort estimation for individual work packages
Development of features and execution of unit tests to ensure code quality
Documentation of implemented changes in accordance with project standards
Root cause analysis and resolution of defects
Requirements
Primary: Proficiency in Smalltalk VisualWorks, ideally 3+ years of hands-on experience
Strong understanding of object-oriented design and architecture (OOP/OOD)
Experience working with legacy codebases and established system architectures
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g. SUnit)
Knowledge of version control and configuration management tools
Database connectivity experience
