1) Job Purpose

Lead end-to-end site construction and execution of utility-scale Wind projects by driving safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery. The role is responsible for overall site leadership, ensuring seamless coordination across construction, contractors, OEMs, EHS, quality, and cross-functional teams to achieve commissioning milestones.


2) Job Context & Major Challenges

Based at the project site, the role is accountable for complete site execution, managing multiple work fronts including civil works, WTG foundations, roads, crane pads, electrical works, WTG erection, pooling substations, transmission infrastructure, testing, and commissioning readiness.

Key challenges include executing projects within aggressive timelines, managing multiple EPC contractors and OEMs, coordinating heavy lift logistics, maintaining workforce productivity, ensuring EHS and quality compliance, resolving site-level bottlenecks, and achieving seamless coordination across all construction activities.

The role requires a seasoned Wind Construction leader with end-to-end site ownership. Candidates with experience limited to Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Planning functions without complete site leadership exposure will not meet the requirement.

Construction ManagementDrive execution of civil works, WTG foundations, internal roads, crane pads, WTG erection, electrical works, pooling substations, and transmission systems.
Site Coordination & Team LeadershipLead construction, EHS, QA/QC, planning, logistics, stores, and contractor teams to ensure safe and efficient execution.
Contractor & OEM ManagementCoordinate with WTG OEMs, EPC contractors, crane agencies, and vendors to ensure timely execution and issue resolution.
Project Schedule ManagementMonitor site progress, drive milestone achievement, identify execution risks, and implement recovery plans where required.
EHS & Quality ComplianceEnsure adherence to company EHS standards, statutory requirements, quality systems, permit-to-work processes, and zero-harm culture.
Resource & Logistics ManagementPlan manpower, equipment, heavy lift cranes, construction materials, and logistics for uninterrupted site execution.
Stakeholder ManagementCoordinate with Land Acquisition, local authorities, village communities, utilities, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Cost & Productivity ManagementOptimize site productivity, monitor resource utilization, and support project cost control initiatives.
Commissioning & HandoverEnsure punch point closure, testing readiness, statutory compliance, and smooth handover to Commissioning and O&M teams.

Qualifications

  • Full-time B.E./B.Tech (Mandatory) - Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or equivalent Engineering.
  • 15-20 years of experience in Wind Project Construction and Site Execution.
  • Must currently be handling complete site responsibility for utility-scale Wind projects as a Site Head / Construction Head.
  • Strong experience in execution of 100+ MW Wind projects will be preferred.
  • Hands-on exposure to WTG foundations, roads, crane pads, WTG erection, pooling substations (33/132/220/400 kV), transmission systems, testing, and commissioning.
  • Proven experience managing EPC contractors, WTG OEMs, crane agencies, and large multi-functional site teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, EHS, quality systems, and execution controls.
  • Experience working in remote project locations with strong local stakeholder and administration management skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP/ERP, MS Excel, and project reporting tools.
