SIM & R&S Testing Specialist (SIM TA / Batch / Parametric Testing)

Department: Devices and Cards Management

Location: Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

Work Setup: Hybrid

Target Start Date: Feb 2026

Role Overview

The SIM & R&S Testing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, functionality, and compliance of SIM cards and mobile devices within the mobile network ecosystem.

This role is responsible for handling SIM Type Approval (TA), SIM Batch Testing (BAU), After-Sales testing, Project testing, and R&S Parametric Testing for mobile devices. The specialist ensures proper execution, monitoring, and resolution of all SIM-related requests and testing activities, maintaining strict SLA and KPI compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. SIM Testing & Operations

  • Perform SIM Type Approval (TA) testing, including pre-TA preparation.
  • Conduct BAU batch testing of SIM cards.
  • Execute aftersales SIM testing for issues such as:
    • No signal
    • Expired SIM
    • Missing/defective SIM
    • Rejected SIMs
    • White card requests
  • Handle project-related SIM testing requirements.
  • Ensure proper monitoring and execution of all SIM-related testing and internal requests (BAU and Project).
  • Maintain a 5-day testing SLA per SIM type.
  • Maintain 1-day SLA per 30 SIM batch tested.

2. R&S Parametric Testing

  • Operate and manage R&S Parametric Testing tools for mobile device type approval.
  • Conduct device testing based on internal lineup schedules.
  • Provide daily and weekly performance reports for R&S testing outputs.
  • Maintain 5-day KPI testing per device.

3. Technical Support & Compliance


  • Provide technical support for SIM card operations to ensure smooth and productive group functions.
  • Conduct Type Approval testing through zero-cost Purchase Orders and Purchase Requisitions.
  • Perform mobile pairing and generate input files for vendor SIM production.
  • Ensure all Testbed/Production test SIMs and eSIMs are future-ready and technically compliant.
  • Update Testbed/Prod test eSIMs to align with emerging requirements (e.g., eSIM capability, 5G readiness).
  • Ensure SIM cards meet industry and regulatory standards through compliance testing.

4. Monitoring, Reporting & SLA Management


  • Prepare daily and monthly performance reports for SIM batch testing.
  • Provide daily/weekly performance reports for R&S tool testing outputs.
  • Monitor dashboards for Type Approval and batch testing.
  • Maintain testing KPIs and SLA compliance.
  • Ensure timely resolution of SIM-related issues (e.g., MyBSS undefined, HLR issues, number management).
  • Handle escalations and implement resolution fixes efficiently.

5. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution


  • Diagnose and troubleshoot SIM-related technical issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendor managers, and field operations for issue resolution.
  • Enable swift market release by ensuring rapid issue resolution and process improvements.

Required Technical Skills (Hard Skills)

  • Strong understanding of telecommunications protocols (GSM, LTE, 5G).
  • Knowledge of SIM card standards and technologies including:
    • SIM Application Toolkit (SAT)
    • SIM Toolkit (STK)
    • Over-the-Air (OTA) updates
  • Understanding of mobile network architecture and operations.
  • Familiarity with mobile devices (Android, iOS, Harmony).
  • Proficiency in SIM card functionality, performance, and interoperability testing.
  • Ability to develop and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts.
  • Experience in QA principles within telecommunications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability.
  • Experience in compliance and regulatory testing.
  • Ability to operate R&S parametric testing tools.

  • Accurate and timely submission of daily/weekly/monthly reports.
