Brief Summary
Join a dynamic shipowning business as a Shipowner's Representative, where you will play an essential role in operational oversight and management of vessel activities. This is an engaging position that involves hands-on challenges and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Represent the shipowner's interests by working closely with the appointed ship management company. Monitor and coordinate vessel operations, technical matters, maintenance, and repairs in collaboration with the ship management company. Review operational expenditure, budgets, quotations, and major repair/dry-docking matters from the owner's perspective. Conduct vessel visits, inspections, and ensure operational follow-up as needed. Liaise with relevant parties such as ship managers, vendors, charterers, ports, and other service providers. Act as the owner's representative focusing on risk control, cost oversight, and operational matters, providing regular updates to management.
Requirements
- Possession of a Master Mariner (FG) or Chief Engineer Class 1 qualification is preferred. A minimum of 2-3 years of shore-based experience in roles such as Marine Superintendent, Technical Superintendent, or a similar operational role. Strong practical background in maritime or technical operations, with a firm understanding of vessel operations, maintenance, compliance, and cost control. Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently and attend to vessels when required.
