RESPONSIBILITIES
The Shift Custodian Supervisor is the overall in charge in the daily activity and operations of the News Property Custodian. This includes overseeing the issuance, return, inventory, repair, and preventive maintenance of broadcast equipment and facilities. This role manages scheduling, safety compliance, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure operational efficiency. Additionally, the supervisor manages resource procurement, resolves operational issues, and provides leadership and support to assigned personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Graduate of at least a 2-year technical course (Electronics or Electrical) or an engineering degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in TV news audio and video operations; experience in a lead role is an advantage.
- Equipment Proficiency: Knowledge of the operation, proper handling, and setup of audio, video, and lighting equipment (e.g., teleprompters, surveillance cameras, video monitors, microphones, and others).
- Troubleshooting: Technical competency in the basic troubleshooting of audio/video broadcast equipment under his/her custody.
- Process Improvement: Ability to develop, implement, and continuously improve warehousing and inventory management processes.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze technical issues and provide or recommend on-the-spot solutions.
- Procurement/Upgrades: Ability to research and identify necessary equipment for facility upgrades.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in various computer software, including MS Excel, MS Word, inventory/warehouse management systems, and internet applications.
- Policy Compliance: Familiarity with company management policies and standard work-related procedures.
