Job Tittle : Senior Associate US Domestic Settlements

Position Overview

As part of the Global Market Securities Settlements team at BNP Paribas Solutions Philippines Branch, this leadership role is responsible for managing the settlement of security transactions (including Bonds, Equities, Complex Securities, ETF, SLAB, and Repo) for the North and South American markets. The primary objective is to ensure that all transactions and positions registered under the CIB ITO mandate match counterparty commitments accurately, securely, and in accordance with Group, regulatory, and contractual policies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Settlement Management: Lead the timely and cost-effective settlement of security transactions booked in Calypso; ensure trades are instructed, matched, and settled; monitor failing trades; and reduce fails through pairing, partialing down, or partial deliveries.
  • Reconciliation & Break Resolution: Investigate and clear Nostro and Depot reconciliation breaks reported by Securities Control teams; pass necessary entries into Calypso to clean up outstanding items; and resolve accounting breaks.
  • Risk & Cost Mitigation: Minimize operational and reputational risk by following Compliance rules; monitor and act on market risks (such as buy-ins); improve STP (Straight-Through Processing) rates at custodians by updating static data; and reduce manual instructions/interventions.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain close working relationships with traders, sales, domestic agents, and custodians; communicate effectively with internal support functions and ensure management is informed of potential issues.

Required Education, Skills and Experience (must have)

  • Experience: 3–7 years of experience in Prime Brokerage US Domestic Settlements operations (specifically Equities) or a highly relevant operations background.
  • Schedule: Must be amenable to working a US Shift schedule (9:00 PM to 6:00 AM SGT).
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze, organize, and report data efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility regarding working methods and the ability to navigate a changing international environment.
  • Resilience: Ability to maintain performance excellence and resilience in a high-pressure environment.
  • Compliance: High level of diligence in following established procedures and strict Compliance policies.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience (nice to have)

  • System Knowledge: Proficiency in Calypso or SWIFT.
  • Leadership: Previous experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor.
  • Process Improvement: Experience in automating tasks or improving workflows.
  • Broader Knowledge: Familiarity with Bonds, Derivatives, or other complex products.
