ServiceNow Business Analyst (GRC Exposure)

About the Role

Amaris Consulting is looking for an experienced, client-facing ServiceNow Business Analyst with a background in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) to support ServiceNow implementation and enhancement projects for enterprise clients.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of relevant Business Analyst experience, strong requirements-gathering skills, and experience working with business stakeholders and technical teams. Exposure to ServiceNow GRC/Integrated Risk Management (IRM) is an advantage.

This is a remote freelance engagement requiring the ability to work independently, communicate effectively with clients, and deliver agreed project outcomes within established timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Facilitate client meetings, interviews, and workshops to understand business processes and requirements.
• Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Support governance and compliance-related processes, including risk management, policy and compliance management, controls, and audit workflows, depending on project scope.
• Collaborate with ServiceNow developers, technical consultants, and project managers to ensure requirements are understood and implemented.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other Agile activities as required.
• Coordinate functional testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Maintain accurate project documentation and track requirements, issues, and change requests.
• Communicate project progress, clarify requirements, and manage client expectations.
• Commit to agreed deliverables, meetings, and project milestones.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant Business Analyst experience in IT projects.
• Experience working with ServiceNow in a business analysis capacity.
• Experience or practical exposure to governance and compliance processes.
• Strong requirements-gathering, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear functional documentation.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and functional testing.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Willingness to work during Switzerland business hours.
• Availability to start ASAP and commit to an approximately three-month engagement.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM), formerly known as GRC.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, or SecOps.
• Experience with ServiceNow implementations, enhancements, or platform migrations.
• ServiceNow certifications or relevant micro-certifications.
• Experience working with international clients and distributed teams.
