About the Role: 

Our client is designing a new professional services offering from the ground up, and they need engineers who can turn an idea into a defined, tested, repeatable service. As a Services Innovation Architect, you will be embedded in the Platform Engineering team for the duration of a focused, four-month design project. Your job is not to deliver services to customers. Your job is to define what the service is, how it should work, evaluate alternative approaches, and prove the design holds up before it is ever offered commercially. This is a project engagement with a clear end point: when the offering has been fully scoped, designed, and tested, the project concludes. 

What will you do: 

• Author the scope definition for the new offering: objectives, boundaries, delivery methodology, technical prerequisites, and expected outcomes. 
• Design and evaluate alternative service architectures and delivery models, documenting trade-offs and recommending a preferred approach. 
• Work alongside Platform Engineering to understand product capabilities, dependencies, and constraints that shape what the service can and cannot do. 
• Build and execute test plans to validate the design, including internal proofs of concept and, where needed, limited technical feasibility sessions with select customers under supervision. 
• Produce the design artifacts the business will need to stand up the offering: methodology documentation, runbooks, deliverable templates, and test results. 
• Identify technical gaps or risks in the proposed offering and propose design changes to close them. 

What will you not do: 

• Deliver billable professional services or perform customer implementations. 
• Conduct market research, pricing analysis, or demand validation. 
• Take on ongoing support, account management, or sales responsibilities 

Requirements: 

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity and/or enterprise networking (SASE, SSE, CASB, ZTNA, SD-WAN, SWG, DLP, firewalls, or comparable domains). 
• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 
• Demonstrated ability to design technical solutions and translate them into structured, written specifications. 
• Experience testing or validating technical designs, with a disciplined approach to documenting results. 
• Strong written and verbal communication; you can explain a design decision to an engineer and non-technical stakeholder. 

Preferred: 

• Prior experience in professional services, solution architecture, or technical consulting in  
• a security or networking vendor. 
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and identity providers. 
• Experience defining or launching a new service line, methodology, or delivery framework. 
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent). 

Success at the end of four months looks like: 

• A complete, approved scope definition for the new offering. 
• A documented and tested delivery methodology, with alternatives evaluated and recommended design. 
• A clear handoff package that allows the business to decide whether and how to launch
