The Qualifications We Seek
- 3-5 years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on WordPress development and CMS-driven platforms
- Hands-on experience with Headless CMS and headless WordPress frameworks such as Flexpress or similar tools is required
- Strong proficiency in PHP within the WordPress ecosystem, including theme, plugin, and CMS customization
- Strong JavaScript experience, preferably with React, Next.js, or similar frameworks used in headless CMS builds
- Experience integrating WordPress or Headless CMS platforms with REST APIs and/or GraphQL
- Working knowledge of Django-based systems, Python, or similar back-end frameworks for integrations, data pipelines, or platform support
- Experience with content-heavy, CMS-driven, or publishing platforms, including structured content, data accuracy, and CMS configurations
- Experience with MySQL or similar databases, Git workflows, and collaborative development practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a ticket-driven environment such as JIRA
- Clear and professional written English communication skills for remote team collaboration
- Familiarity with Omeda, subscription/authentication systems, ad tech tools, Google Ad Manager, header bidding, or tag management is an advantage
- Experience working with U.S.-based teams or clients is preferred
Your Daily Tasks
Platform & Product Development
- Build, enhance, and maintain features within a headless WordPress or Flexpress architecture.
- Develop reusable, scalable components across multiple brands, sites, or digital properties.
- Translate product requirements, tickets, and documentation into clean, maintainable code.
- Contribute to improvements in publishing workflows, tools, and platform usability.
Content Systems & Architecture
- Implement and maintain content models, taxonomy structures, metadata mapping, and structured content workflows.
- Ensure consistency across shared platforms while supporting content reuse, SEO, performance, and data accuracy.
API & Integration Work
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot APIs and integrations for content delivery, subscription, identity, advertising, analytics, and tag management systems.
- Resolve integration issues across CMS, third-party platforms, APIs, and front-end delivery.
Platform Stability & Optimization
- Monitor and improve performance, caching, reliability, front-end delivery, and overall system stability.
- Debug issues across CMS, APIs, integrations, and user-facing experiences.
Migration Support
- Support ongoing content migration from Django-based or legacy systems.
- Assist with data mapping, transformation, validation, and content accuracy checks.
Remote Collaboration
- Work effectively in a remote, distributed team using tickets, documentation, async communication, and regular check-ins.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and questions clearly while taking ownership from development through QA and deployment.
